Identify what needs rescuing
Record the model and variant, current manual revision, affected task and repeated customer questions. Mark instructions that no longer match the product. Keep source gaps visible instead of filling them with plausible but unverified steps.
Use one task to show the improvement
Choose a section where orientation, sequence or component identification matters. Prepare clear actions and supporting views; use the existing manual, photos, dimensions and available CAD to establish the scope.
Keep technical writing and illustration connected
A new drawing does not establish the correct sequence, and new text does not make an obsolete diagram accurate. Have the reviewer check the steps, visuals and part references together. The work may require technical writing, modeling or additional manufacturer information.
Review the proposed experience
Test the chosen task with the physical product or an accountable product reviewer. Confirm prerequisites, warnings, part references and completion checks. The demo establishes feasibility and preparation needs; it is not an automatic approval of the source manual.
